Pecheur.com: everything went right, except the price.
A big French shop with a long brand list, a smooth checkout and a delivery to southern Italy that gave me nothing to complain about. What I struggled with was the bill: my €86.80 basket was considerably more expensive than the comparable baskets I recorded at the other European shops tested so far, and the Italian free-shipping threshold is set at a very high €2,000.
What I ordered*
I keep to the same five-item test basket in every shop so comparisons stay fair: a main line, a fluorocarbon leader, jig heads, soft baits and a hard bait. At Pecheur.com I built the basket with the brands available: Gosen for the lines, Major Craft for the jig head and hard bait, and Bait Breath for the soft bait.

Everything arrived exactly as ordered. The stock information matched reality and there were no substitutions imposed on me at checkout.
Prices
This is where the comparison becomes uncomfortable. The five products in my comparison basket — the same main line, fluorocarbon, jig heads, soft bait and hard bait I try to order everywhere — came to €86.80 before shipping at Pecheur.com. My comparable basket at Tsouros Marine came to €69.10, and the equivalent five items at another European shop landed at €52.05.
They carry a lot of brands, which is genuinely useful when you are hunting for something specific. But the price level on the items I compared was consistently the highest I have recorded so far. Pecheur.com does run the occasional 10% discount coupon, yet a 10% saving does not turn a very expensive order into a cheap one. That is the single reason this review does not score better.
Methodology note
Prices and shipping costs reflect what was displayed and paid at the time of my orders. Prices, stock and shipping policies can change. Comparisons are based on the products available to me at each shop and are not intended to represent the entire product range.
Customer service
I never had to contact them, which is the best compliment I can pay a shop. Every email arrived on time: order confirmation, payment receipt, dispatch notice and tracking. At no point did I have to ask where my parcel was.

Good
Enough protection, nothing damaged
Four days from payment to delivery in southern Italy, with no problems at any stage. The protection inside the parcel was sufficient, everything came in its original packaging and every item was brand new and in top condition. On the logistics side there is genuinely nothing to criticise — except the free-shipping threshold. For Italy, Pecheur.com asks for €2,000 in the cart before delivery is free. €2,000 is a very high threshold for someone making a typical light-rock-fishing restock.

The gear
The Gosen line and leader are exactly what I expect from the brand — for me still the best thin lines on the market. The Major Craft jig heads and the Eden 50H do the job, and everything arrived brand new in original packaging. The disappointment is not the gear itself; it is the price attached to it.
What the shop got right
- Delivery in 4 days with no issues
- Emails at every step, tracking always working
- Reasonable €7.90 home delivery to Italy
- Accurate stock and original packaging, all new
- Very wide brand list overall
What I would improve
- Product prices on Japanese light tackle are far above what I found elsewhere in Europe — the single issue that stops me from recommending this shop for a regular restock
Bottom line
As a buying experience, Pecheur.com is very good — fast, communicative, well packed and completely trouble-free. In fact it is almost flawless. But for me its real value is setting a standard against which other shops can be judged. The prices I paid make comparison shopping particularly worthwhile, and that is exactly the habit this page is here to encourage.
