The 1000 body is small and light enough to balance a soft light game rod all day, yet the drag is smooth and progressive enough to hold a good fish on thin fluorocarbon.

Conclusion: where I would buy it today
Between the cheapest and the most expensive listing there is about 25% difference on the same reel family. On a reel at this level that gap is worth more than a full spool of good braid.
